"Lucky attacked you because of me," Elizabeth tried to explain to a slightly agitated Jason.

"No Lucky attacked me because he is crazy."

"No Jason, I told Lucky how I feel about you. How was he supposed to react? He's hurt, he's angry. He didn't want to turn that on me, so he took it out on you. I know it's not the right thing to do, but your not hurt."

"But you are, and you know what? Lucky, he's right about something. Your tearing yourself apart. I knew the Lucky that you loved and I understand why, but he's changed Elizabeth," Jason tried to tell her, but knew he was not getting through to her.

"It's not his fault, he's been kidnapped. He was programed," she tried to explain to Jason.

"That's not the point. See when I woke up after my accident. There were people who wanted to love me and I couldn't accept it anymore than I could love them back. Because I was different. How and why it didn't matter," Jason tried to explain.

"Lucky wants my love and he does love me back," replied Elizabeth.

"Then why do you keep coming to me? There is something real between us. And it doesn't matter why it started it... We have to decide what to do with it. I don't want to watch you hurt. I want to see you smile. The way you do when your free. I want to show you that the light is different in Italy then anywhere else in the world. Will you come with me?" Asked Jason holding his hand out to her. Hoping with everything in him that she would take it, "We don't have to be here, we can go anywhere."

"Ride away from everything, never look back," she said with a sigh of longing.

"You can look back when your ready. You can come back here cause you want to, not because you feel obligated to stay."

"This is my life," whispered Elizabeth.

"It doesn't have to be. You can find something else," replied Jason feeling her resolve slipping.

"With you?" she quietly asked.

"Yeah with me, or not. I mean if we get where were going, to Italy or where ever and then you decide you can't stand me, I'll walk away, at least you'll be free," Jason told Elizabeth. He could see the trapped look reenter her eyes, and knew he had lost her again.

"I don't want to be free. I want to be with Lucky," she recited as if she were the one programmed and not Lucky.

"When are you going to see the truth? Lucky is dangerous," Jason replied finally getting angry.

"He's made mistakes, but so have you," replied Elizabeth.

"I know but I don't attack people and then lie about it," said Jason.

"He wouldn't lie."

"But he did.... Elizabeth you can't fix this. You can't turn Lucky back into the person that you loved," Jason said. Knowing that with each word he was losing her.

"He still is the person that I love, and he always will be."

"I mean don't... Don't you see what's in front of you? The whole world is waiting for you. We could see it together or you could see it alone just... just get away from Lucky and go someplace safe," said Jason.

"Jason please just stop ok. Cause I don't want to be angry, but your wrong about Lucky. I know his heart. He really is loving and gentle, and I trust him. So you need to trust me. I'm doing the right thing. I know what I'm doing," pleaded Elizabeth.

"Just be careful," replied Jason knowing he had lost her again.

"I don't have to be Lucky would never hurt me."

"I hope your right."

"I never thought that I could love Lucky and have feelings for you too. I didn't handle it very well. I kinda didn't handle it at all. You've been so supportive of me," said Elizabeth feeling the need to explain her decision.

"Elizabeth it's all right. You decided and now we both know," replied Jason in a voice he almost didn't recognize.

"Thank you for understanding," replied Elizabeth.

"Well I don't. But maybe that just proves you are doing the right thing. So please be happy. That's all I really want."

"I will be now that I'm clear on what's in my heart. That's something else you gave me," replied Elizabeth.

Elizabeth turned and started to walk away. As she got to the top of the stairs she realized that this was good bye. He really was leaving this time. She felt that if she didn't turn around and look at him, she would make it. She would be able to continue to deny her feelings for him. Elizabeth stopped walking. She could feel Jason's eyes on her back. She knew she had hurt him, but she also knew that he didn't believe her when she said that she loved Lucky.

Elizabeth turned and looked back at Jason, "I can't...I can't walk away. I thought I could. I convinced myself I could do this."

Jason closed the distance between them, "What are you saying Elizabeth?"

Elizabeth looked at Jason with her heart in her eyes, "I love you Jason."

"I'm not sure when I knew, but I know it's you I love. I have turned you away over and over again trying to convince myself that what I felt for you wasn't real. that Lucky being alive is a miracle that I can't turn my back on, but Jason. You are the miracle in my life. You are the one who has always been there. You listened to me when no one else could hear me," Elizabeth said in a rush.

"Elizabeth stop. Slow down. What are you trying to say?" asked Jason.

"Jason you're who I want to be with. I want to go to Italy. I want to go there more than anything. I feel trapped, I don't know how to end things with Lucky...I'm afraid of him Jason. I know Lucky doesn't want to hurt me. I see that in his eyes. I know in his heart he wants me to run from him. Maybe I should listen to his eyes, and realize. I can't save him right now, but I can save myself and my heart. Jason I will go with you. I would go anywhere with you," Elizabeth said tearfully.

"Elizabeth are you sure? I need you to be sure. Look at me," he asked hercupping her chin in his hand. "I do love you, and we do have something real here. I will do whatever you want. I can love you enough to let you go, or I," Jason started to say.

"No Jason," Elizabeth interupted, "I, I don't want you to let me go. I need you. I'm not even sure when I decided I needed you so much, but I do. I want this, I want us. We only have one life to live, shouldn't we live it to the fullest while we can?"

Jason stared intently into Elizabeth's eyes and knew with certainty that she had made her choice. She had choosen him. Jason lowered his mouth to hers hestitating looking up into her eyes the whole time. As his lips met hers he closed his eyes. He had wanted for so long to be with her like this after all those missed oppritunities. Jason ran his tongue along Elizabeths lips, seeking entrance. She hestitated only briefly before giving herself up to Jason completely. She opened her lips to his kiss as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Jason drew her closer to him. Soon the need for air became too much and they had to break apart.

They looked at each other and Jason handed Elizabeth her helmet he always kept for her. She took it and walked with Jason to his bike. He got on and waited for her to get on behind him. After she had wrapped her arms around him he started the bike and drove away.

The future was uncertain but at least they wold be together to face whatever life had to throw at them. Both Jason and Elizabeth knew that as ling as they were together they could do anything.
